This is very unfortunate, the aftermath of Super Typhoon Yolanda had left more than dead bodies and ruined houses on Isabel, Leyte.
The said town is currently suffering from an oil spill after a barge and a tug boat sank during the super typhoon devastation.
Lalaine Ruby Jabonete of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office MDRRMO of Isabel said that they have been coordinating with the Philippine Coast Guard to help them control the oil spill as well as removing the two boats under the Isabel sea.
Anyone can tell that the media is just sensationalizing news, but it is true that an 88 years-old man died while waiting for relief goods in Isabel, Leyte.
The old man who died from waiting the relief goods six days after the typhoon was identified as Quirico Dejillo. It seems like the relief goods will never reach him anymore. Dejillo surely have survived the onslaught of the monsterous typhoon but not in waiting for the relief goods that did not came for his aid.
“Wala na ang tatay ko. Wala na,” – his daughter said during a media interview. The young Dejillo also said that they cannot provide a decent burial for their father because they do not have money. She also added that her family just wrapped their father in a blanket and burried him in the compound.
Donations For Isabel, Leyte
A group of young professionals from Manila and Cebu initiated a donation drive to help their hometown – Isabel, Leyte, which had experienced devastation from the super typhoon that hit the province one week ago.
These professionals have used the current technology to speed-up the donation drive, they set-up a facebook page the day after Yolanda hit Isabel, Leyte.
With this, donations immediately swelled for more than a million pesos which came from local and international donors.
